Born in 1979, Melaine Dalibert is a French composer and pianist who is becoming as recognised for his compositional piano works as he is for his wonderful interpretations of works by Gérard Pesson, Giuliano D'Angiolini, Tom Johnson, Peter Garland and many others. Dalibert studied at the Paris Conservatories and was classically trained in Rennes, where he now teaches.

Magic Square, by French composer and pianist Melaine Dalibert, is a fantasy journey. Epigrammatic as it is melancholic, this piano suite is born from and designed for introspection.

This meditative piece, the title track of the album, acts as a musical still life. Melancholy and nostalgia rise up from the autumnal sound of rain, backdropping the slow, ruminative strains of piano.
